9 ways to improve business relationships

Good business relationships are the foundation of any successful company. Whether you're a new entrepreneur or an established CEO, your ability to engage with and impress others is vital to your success. In this article, we will discuss 9 ways that you can use to improve business relationships and get ahead in the game!

1) Be prepared

It's important not only for networking events but also during everyday conversations with clients or colleagues. Preparation includes knowing what you want out of the conversation as well as knowing how it might impact other areas of your life (such as time management).

2) Make them feel special

There may be a reason for the honeymoon phase feeling so magical. The rush of new emotions is one thing, but when you're both in wooing mode it can feel like little touches are all that matter- handwritten love notes, flowers and chocolates from your beloved make life lightheaded during this time.

Lets be honest, you're not going to quite hit the clients in this manner. But what you can do is just go that extra mile to woo them. This'll make sure they leave you with a smile on their face. Remember that the customer relationship's are so crucial to the business. Take care of their needs and wants with a desire to make them feel as though you've got all day for them - no matter how busy things get!

3) Listen to your mother

It's always the old-fashioned wisdom that holds up to time when it comes to people. So when it comes down to relationship building, go back and get a little bit of help from your mother/elders. She probably knows better than you anyways (I promise not tell her; she would never let me live this one down).

4)  Put the focus back on them

If you're a B2B provider, take the time to get involved with your clients. Spend some quality time getting familiarized with their business so that when they call for help or show interest in one of your services, you can really make an impression and be more than just "that guy."

5) If you build the relationship, they will come

Beyond your product, people are looking to connect with others who feel and think the way they do. Your customers want more than just an additional service; they're seeking a connection that extends beyond their needs for you as well. This is why it's crucial to create something that goes far beyond what you offer -- because if you don't, someone else will inevitably take advantage of this need in them!

6. Take it slow

When it comes to romance, most people will agree that going slow is essential. It's the same for client acquisition and sales cycles! Slow down before you push yourself too hard in order to make a sale at any cost- your own sanity may depend on it! Just taking that little extra step back will make the world of difference in any relationships!
