Facebook ads are expensive and it's hard to know if they'll be worth the investment. If you run a small business, it can be difficult to justify spending $2,500 or more on Facebook advertising per month. But that doesn't mean you should skip out on this powerful channel altogether. There are ways for small businesses to get started with ad testing without breaking the bank. Facebook ads can be an effective way to market your business, but they come with a hefty price tag. How much does Facebook advertising cost? There are two types of campaign pricing: "Pay per click" and "Cost-per-thousand impressions." For every 100 individuals who click on your email, there will be a retargeting user on Facebook.If you’re hoping to get tremendous traffic within a short time and for little or no cost, your post or advertisement must be high quality.

Here is a useful budgeting guide for small businesses.  The cost of a Facebook ad depends on the type of campaign you want to run. A $200 ad will reach around 1000 people on average, which means you’ll need about 100 retargeting users per month for this price point if you want to make profits. The difference between choosing an "interest" or "audience" is that with interests, your ads will only show up when people have expressed interest in those topics while audiences allow more targeted advertising. So why are they so great?

• Non-intrusive. Facebook ads are not as intrusive in the lives of your target audience, which allows for a more personal experience
• Allows you to research who is buying from your competitors. With the help of targeting tools, you can find out what’s working and copy it
• Cost-effective. The prices for facebook ads are relatively inexpensive when compared to other forms of advertising
• Beneficial exposure. You get much more traffic without investing too many hours into an ad campaign

When we target specific demographics such as an age group, gender etc., our ads might turn out differently than if they were shown based on location alone (e.g.: If someone lives in Paris) where there would likely be fewer users but luckily their conversion rates may also not vary much from other regions because everyone has access to them through social media networks). Expect that one-third of your advertising budget should be spent on conversion marketing, one-third should be engagement, and one-third for growth.

Most people get stuck with Facebook ads because they don't have a plan. They just start running campaigns without doing any research or planning first.
