How To Use QR Codes Effectively To Get Leads from Offline Sources

QR codes, we have all seen them laying around somewhere – right? Ever seen them on a leaflet, an event or even the bus stop? They’re everywhere! So why are you not even trying to use them?

They were first released in 1994, but to me, they were ahead of their time. Come on now, image scanning a QR code with your Nokia 3310 (did that even have a camera? Probably not) Now with smartphones being universal giving people easy and free access to a QR Reader it means now more than ever, these can be used to their full potential to share information.

From an Infusionsoft point of view, how can we go about using them? Well I always believe we should be encouraging different ways of engaging our clients with their customers/contacts, and trying to move people from traditional print media to my digital media. This then can drive contacts into Infusionsoft’s database and increase engagement. This can be really important in some industries, especially those that work predominantly within traditional marketing.

Now I could easily give people this link: https://exela.infusionsoft.com/app/page/qrexample on a document, but that means they have to type it in, make no mistakes and this takes time! Instead how about a nice looking QR Code they can scan to do to the same landing page?

Now I could have spent money making this link I suppose, or I can use a nice free tool such as http://www.qr-code-generator.com/ where you simply paste in the link to your landing page (or webpage) and click create. You can then download the image from the box on the right, voila, one QR code.

1 Tip for Using QR Codes

Let’s say you are at an event handing business cards or leaflets. You have created an online lead magnet where prospects can download 5 tips about a particular problem they may have. I would create a landing page and within this have a webform (of course) to take their name and email to receive their free tips. On the publications you use such as your business cards, insert the QR code and link it to your Infusionsoft landing page or webform using the URL within your Infusionsoft app. Then boom. You can get leads quicker than you ever thought without having to carry an expensive iPad around.

So actually, this can be so easy to implement and the only way you will know if it will work – testing it! Give it a go and let us know how you use them at assist@exela.co.uk. We’d love to hear from you
